Session 1
In Structural Integration we start connecting to who we are, here and now, through our body sensations. The result of a first SI session can be special. It often opens a window on the outcome of the ten sessions.
A sense of wholeness and a taste of the experience of S.I. A landmark of flow and connectedness - the outset of an exciting journey – the dawning of a new day.
The Basic Series is a process that has a beginning, a middle and an end. Session 1 is at the outset of this adventure.
Bert Schmitz and Aleš Urbanczik will initiate this exploration and open the 10 series.
Session 2 & 3
The 2nd session brings foundation to our being. It works with the form and the function of our relationship to the world, every one's unique expression of his or her vertical and moveable human condition. As we take the world in, a new breath rises from within and self expands to meet all things.
The 3rd session constitutes the integrative moment of the three first superficial sessions. It aims to connect earth and heaven, above and below, front and back, past and future.
Nilce Silveira and Fulvio Faudella will be our guides for these sessions.
Session 4 & 5
A pivotal moment in the recipe: we are entering the core of the process and the core of the client: their deepest structures and their deepest being. Mysteries and challenges await the explorer.
There is a change in pace and rhythm. This needs to be perceived, honored and appreciated. How do we walk the line without stumbling?
David Davis and Neal Powerswill use their experience to shine some light onto this narrow path.
Session 6 & 7
These sessions conclude the core session project 4-7 and open the doorway to the integrating sessions 8-10.
The instructions from the recipe become sketchier. 'Free the sacrum' and 'Put the head on' are the slogans and 'Create a unified spinal field' the intent.
What do these slogans mean? Why are these sessions important? How do we go about working them? What are the impacts for the client?
Nilce Silveira and Aleš Urbanczik will tackle these questions head on.
Session 8 & 9
Come 8 and 9 a shift in intention becomes imperative. In 1 through 7 we worked on individual parts – in 8 through 10 we need to work towards putting still imperfect individual elements into a sensible relationship with each other so that they can function as a whole integrated system.
We are going to explore why asking for movement is essential and how we might be able to define the hallmark of integration. The focus of the work may slowly shift from the table to realistic situations in everyday life – sitting, standing, walking …
Neal Powers, David Davis and Adam Polański will set the stage for exploring the artistry and abundance of possibilities in these integrative and educational sessions.
Session 10
Number 10 and it’s almost time to say ‘goodbye’ … but before we do that there are still some chores to attend to. At least as important may be to understand what should not be attended to.
It is always a special session and the entire EGSI faculty will help us understand where we are at. Where, when and how could the journey continue ?
The EGSI faculty will share their wisdom: Neal Powers, Nilce Silveira, David Davis, Bert Schmitz, Aleš Urbanczik, Fulvio Faudella and Adam Polański.

Post 10 Single Session - Nilce Silveira
The process of evolution and self-development does not stop after the 10 initial sessions. It is a process for our whole life and each SI session should add something new to this journey. In post-10 work we’re not doing “maintenance” but we’re installing “upgrades”.
Our job is to evaluate the best approach in order to bring more benefits to that person and help improve his integration in the gravity field. Everything we know about the recipe will be our guide.

Trusting your Intuition
Trusting one’s intuition develops over time with experience and practice. Within the parameters of Dr Rolf’s guidelines participants will be provided with straightforward tools to facilitate the development of their individual style of Structural Integration.
Neal Powers will share his evaluation approach and how he see-feels the client's body.

Cranial Work in 1-6
A "bon mot" attributed to Ida Rolf states that the first six sessions are merely there to prepare for session 7. Indeed, we do work in these sessions on the emergence of better support for the 6 kg head from the underlying structures.
But how could we work in these sessions on the cranium itself to prepare for 7 ?
These are the questions we will investigate going through anatomy and techniques of cranial work in sessions 1-6.

The Mystery of the Psoas/Rhomboid Balance
Psoas/Rhomboids - Lordosis/Kyphosis - Being/Doing
Ida Rolf’s 8th/9th hour consideration to “Balance the Psoas and the Rhomboids” has proved challenging for many practitioners.
No wonder.
The psoas itself is a mysterious muscle, the rhomboids are difficult to feel, let alone use, so 'balancing' them seems at first out of reach.
We will first investigate the psoas, then the rhomboids and then explore what the balance between the two could signify.

Recipe Movement Review
Movement is embedded throughout the basic series of Dr. Ida Rolf's recipe. During this workshop Adam will review with the practitioners the movements used in each session. Movement is inherent in the recipe: on the table, sitting and standing. As manual teachers the movement re-education starts on the table during the 'hands-on' work, sometimes even before the work on the table. Movement during the Basic Series is a tool of awareness and of body organization.

Bodymindfulness in SI
Non-dual consciousness or “the natural state” and the experience of Structural Integration.
How we perceive the world is influenced by our conceptual mind. Kairos (intuitive mind) and Chronos (thinking mind) are its leading factors.
Structural integration opens the bodymind through the experience of flow and the feeling of inner connectedness. We might find an experience of mindfulness, and in this way an opening in the awareness of our natural state.
The “line” and the “here and now” are becoming a felt sense, and the markers of a non-dual space of awareness.

Gravity Dance - an unusual approach to the usual
In this poetic, experiential workshop Fulvio Faudella and Adam Polański will present their point of view on gravity and body alignment – the subject at the heart of Structural Integration. Then they will guide practitioners in the exploration of gravity and line. Structural Awareness will be achieved through guided body meditation/exploration - a very intimate experience within your own body.
Fulvio Faudella
He served for one year in the Italian Navy Academy as a cadet before becoming a professional dancer. Appointed soloist dancer, he performed from 1985 to 2005 dancing with many different ballet companies (among them Aterballetto, Arena di Verona, Teatro Regio Torino, GöteborgsOperan, Scottish Ballet) all around Europe and many of these years under the direction of the choreographer Robert North.
In 1997 a serious knee injury brought him to SI and he graduated from the Guild in the US in 2004.
In the subsequent years he deepened his study and practice of Structural Integration with Neal Powers, Jim Asher, Hubert Godard, David Davis, Nilce Silveira, Liz Stewart and Maria Laura Gentilini.

Anima Fascia Form
Anima is a current of air, wind, breath, the vital principle, life or soul.
Fascia is the medium of giving the Vital essence form, Dr. Rolf called it the organ of form in the human body. It is plastic. It can hold chronically or be fluid, resilient and responsive. David Davis considers fascia as the organ of three-dimensionality and the materialization of consciousness. He will share with participants his way of working with the Anima taking form in the body, as the body.
By expanding the view of core (being) and sleeve (doing) we flesh intention into working the whole being.

Client/Therapist Relationship
The therapeutic relationship is defined as a common space for practioner and client, and a practice of listening and seeing. Ideally an identity-free-space, void of judgement and open for patience, abundance, freshness, beginners mind, concentration and compassion.. It functions as a context of connectedness and a source of information for the flow and progress in the sessions of structural integration, like touch, flow, pause, integration, continuity, release, separation, integration, up, down, front, back, in, out. An informed meeting of brains coming from a non-dualistic natural space.
